S’efforçant de s’opposer à l’aigreur des pessimistes et à la candeur des positivistes, le travail de Louis Bonard tente de s’en prendre au réel et au spectacle avec la joie parfois cinglante du bouffon. Ni complètement enragé, ni complètement nonchalant, il préconise la joie malgré tout, la joie par-dessus tout, celle d’être au monde, ensemble, et de se sentir vivant. S’attaquant volontiers à plus grand que lui, il puise et s’approprie gaiement, dans un double-rapport d’amour et de moquerie, les œuvres et les pensées d’un passé très lointain ou très proche, pour proposer toujours d’ouvrir un œil aussi critique qu’optimiste sur notre présent.

Après une formation à la HEAD (Haute École d’Art et de Design de Genève), dans laquelle il obtient un Bachelor en performance et où il fait la rencontre d’artistes qui le marqueront comme La Ribot, Sophie Nys ou Wim Cuyvers, Louis Bonard est artiste associé à L’Abri - Genève pendant la saison 2019-2020. En septembre 2019, Louis co-signe sa première création, Nous sommes des professionnels, au Théâtre de l’Usine, aux côtés de Sarah André et Yvonne Harder. Il travaille régulièrement en tant que comédien, dramaturge ou collaborateur artistique avec Marion Duval et la compagnie Chris Cadillac (Las Vanitas, Claptrap, Cécile, Avant la retraite, Le spectacle de merde), Aurélien Patouillard (Pachinko, Avant la retraite, Farwest), Marco Berrettini (Claptrap, DISK.O, Music All), Jonathan Capdevielle (Spring Rolle, Music All), Joris Lacoste (Jukebox, Manèges), Julia Perazzini (Le Souper, Waves On), Adina Secretan (Place, Black Buvette, Hoy x Hoy), mais encore Claire Dessimoz, Léa Katharina Meier, Clara Delorme ou Renée van Trier.

Il travaille actuellement sur une série de 4 spectacles basés sur l'Apocalypse de St-Jean. A raison de 2 épisodes par saison, il présentera bientôt l'intégrale des quatre parties à la suite au Théâtre St-Gervais (+ d'infos ici).

Louis est par ailleurs diplômé d'un certificat de piano classique, d'un autre de direction chorale et poursuit actuellement une formation de chant classique, ainsi que des cours de théorbe.

Striving to oppose the bitterness of pessimists as well as the candour of optimists, Louis Bonard’s work is one that attempts to defy both reality and spectacle, with the somewhat scathing joy of the buffoon. Not entirely enraged nor completely nonchalant, Louis Bonard advocates for joy despite and above all, the joy of being in the world, together, and of feeling alive. Going wholeheartedly against what appears to be bigger than himself, he cheerfully draws from and appropriates multiple works and thoughts from very remote or extremely close pasts, in a sort of dual relationship of love and mockery, in order to constantly offer an outlook as critical as it is optimistic on the present.

Louis Bonard (1996) received training in both acting and classical piano, the former at the drama school École Diggleman, while the latter was undertaken at the Conservatoire de Lausanne, where he obtained his Certificate. In 2014, he was invited as an author to represent Switzerland during the first edition of the “Studios Européens d’Écriture à la Chartreuse de Villeneuve-lès-Avignon”. Since then, his first collection of short-stories, Les Immortelles, has been published by the publishing house “Éditions la Marquise”. Louis Bonard continued his studies at the HEAD (Haute École d’Art et de Design de Genève), where he graduated with a Bachelor degree in performance art. He became associated artist at “L’Abri” for the 2019-2020 season. The spectrum of his training was expanded later through the obtention of his choirmaster certificate. He has co-created and acted in performances that have taken places in various sites and contexts: art galleries, apartments, schools, movie theatres, festivals, etc. In September 2019, he undertook his first co-creation, Nous sommes des professionels, at the Théâtre de l’Usine, alongside Sarah André and Yvonne Harder. He has ever since worked regularly as an actor but also as an artistic collaborator with Marion Duval (Las Vanitas, Claptrap, Cécile, Avant la retraite, co-written with Camille Mermet and Aurélien Patouillard), Joris Lacoste (Jukebox, Manèges), Julia Perazzini (Le Souper, Waves On), Adina Secretan (Place, Black Buvette, Hoy x Hoy), Aurélien Patouillard, Léa Katharina Meier, and Renée van Trier.
